This statement can be represented by the following equation:
2x-x= 23
In which 2x is the woman's age and x the son's age.
Since 2x-x equals x
x is equal to 23
x= 23
Therefore the son's age is 23
And the womans age can be found by multiplying 23 times 2
So the woman's age is 46
