|WZ| and |XY| are never said to be parallel. The angle equalities only matter if the lines are parallel.
In order for the two lines mentioned in the problem to be parallel, there would need to be two of the four diagonal lines that are equal lengths. This is like two poles that need to be the same length from the ground to show that the top bar is parallel to the ground.
