A boat travels 88 miles in 3 hours ( with a constant speed). How far can it travel in 4 hours ( with the same speed)?

We will solve this using proportions, like this:

88 miles in 3 hours

x miles in 4 hours

________________

x = (88*4)/3

x = 352/3

x = 117,33 miles in 4 hours
