The energy carriers in plants are are chlorophyll and chloroplasts. The same to cell organelles perform photosynthesis as well, so it only makes sense that they will be the ones carrying the oxygen throughout the plant. In animals, the energy carrier is adenosine triphosphate, or ATP.
