here equation are

x=3y-7     ......a

4x+3y=2   .......b

put the value of x from equation first into the second equation

so, 4(3y-7)+3y=2

     (12y-28)+3y=2

     15y-28=2

     15y=2+28

     15y=30

or    y=30/2=2

now put this y value in equation a

x=3(2)-7

x=6-7=-1

hence y=2 and x= -1
