Solve this system using the substitution method and state the solution: y = 3x - 2 and x + y = -6

x + y = -6
x + (3x - 2) = -6
4x -2 = -6
4x = -4
x = -1

y = 3x -2
y = 3 (-1) -2
y = -3 - 2
y = -5
