The  first four harmonics are 880Hz, 1320Hz, 1760Hz and 2200Hz

Fundamental frequency

The fundamental frequency of string fo is 440 Hz

The first four harmonics are expressed as:

  • f2 = 2fo
  • f3 = 3fo
  • f4 = 4fo

Substitute the given parameters

f2 = 2(440) = 880 Hz

f3 = 3(440) = 1320Hz

f4 = 4(440) = 1760Hz

f5 = 5(440) = 2200Hz

Hence the  first four harmonics are 880Hz, 1320Hz, 1760Hz and 2200Hz
