Corresponding angles between parallel lines are equal

x and y form a linear pair.
x + y = 180°
68 + x= 180
x= 112°

y is 68 degrees because it is the same thing as the thing on the left. So x is 112 because a straight line/semi-circle equals 180. Since the x+y equals a semi-circle (180 degrees) you have to do 180 - 68 equals 112.
