h=x and b=x+10

A=hb/2 so

A=x(x+10)/2

A=(x^2+10x)/2 and A=48 so

(x^2+10x)=96

x^2+10x-96-0

x^2-6x+16x-96=0

x(x-6)+16(x-6)=0

(x+16)(x-6)=0, since x>0

x=6in, and since the base is x+10

base=16in
