distance of a line=  √([x1 - x2]squared + [y1 - y2]squared)
for example, distance of JK=  √([0-5]squared + [7-5]squared)
Solving:
D= √([-5]squared + 2 squared
D=  √25+4
D= √29
D= 5.385164807 units

do this for all of the sides and add them up, that is your perimeter
