The hose leaks 35 gallons in water in a week.
Since one week has 7 days, therefore, the hose leaks 35 gallons in 7 days.

To know the daily leak, we will simply do cross multiplication as follows (we will divide the amount leaked by the hose during the whole week by the number of days in the week) :
daily leak = (1*35) / (7) = 5 gallons/day
