Adam says he can walk 20 feet to the left, then 20 feet to the right and be back in his original position. Is Adam correct? Why or why not?

He is right. He starts at, lets say 0. He walks to the left of 20 ft. Now he's at 20. Then he walks 20 ft to the right. He's back at 0.

yes because if he walks 20 feet to the left and then walks back 20 feet to the right, he will be back in his original position (think of it as +20 -20)
