Dissimilar fractions are fractions with different denominators. Denominators are the bottom numbers in a fraction. For example:
2/4 and 2/6. These are dissimilar fractions. ;) Hope this helped you sweetie.

They are fractions that do not have common denominators. For example 1/3 and 2/3 have common denominators so they are not dissimilar fractions. The fractions 2/5 and 3/4 are dissimilar because their denominators do not match.
