It's the average of the two, which means, we can use the formula:
[tex] \frac{a+b}{2} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{3.25+(-2.75)}{2} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{0.5}{2}= 0.25 [/tex]

0.25 is your answer.
