Circumference = πD

53.38 = 3.14D

D = 53.38 ÷ 3.14 = 17

Diameter = 17 cm

Radius = Diameter ÷ 2 = 17 ÷ 2 = 8.5 cm

Area = πr² = 3.14 x (8.5)² = 226.87 cm² (nearest hundredth)

Answer: 226.87 cm²
