Basically, making it so like terms are on the same sides.
So basically:
x+3+2x=x+3
What you can first do is:
x + 2x + 3 = x + 3
3x + 3 = x + 3
And then you could:
3x + 3 - 3 = x + 3 - 3
3x = 0
/3 /3
x = 0
